Man United 1 - 1 (6-5 pen) Chelsea
Manchester United claimed the league and Champions League double after winning a dramatic content on penalty kicks. Ronaldo headed United into the lead in the first half, but a late first half goal from Frank Lampard made it 1-1 at half time. Petr Cech made crucial saves against Carrick and Tevez to keep Chelsea in the game.
In the second half, Didier Drogba had a shot deflect off the post, and John Terry came up big to head away Ryan Gigg's shot on goal. In extra time, Frank Lampard hit the cross bar, and the game headed to penalty kicks. Didier Drogba was sent off in extra time for slapping Vidic, so he was unable to factor in the penalty kicks.
After Petr Cech saved Cristiano Ronaldo's spot kick, Chelsea had the advantage. But John Terry's penalty kick sailed wide off the post as he slipped taking the kick. If Terry had converted, Chelsea would have been Champions League champions. But United made their next two kicks, and when Edwin van der Sar saved Nicolas Anelka's kick, it was all over. Man United won the Champions League 6-5 on penalties.
