breast cancer, PreventionIt has been brought to my attention lately that I need to manage
stress better. I feel like it is an everyday
occurrence, inevitable. I have always feared
stress, as if it might rear its ugly head and eat me whole. Recently a
study was conducted that found the opposite to be true when considering
stress as a factor against
breast cancer.
6,689 women in Denmark were watched and tested over a period of 18 years, and it was discovered that
stress suppresses
the release of estrogen, a key hormone in developing
breast cancer. There have been some discrepancies in these
studies pertaining to whether the study was looking at a first-time incidence, or all cases together.
