Almost half of the 230,000 men diagnosed with
Prostate Cancer each year undergo a prostatectomy, or surgical removal of the prostate. Statistically, about 15 percent
will be diagnosed with a recurrence of
Prostate Cancer. A new diagnostic test, Prostate PX, in combining cellular,
molecular and clinical information about a patient with advanced computer technology and digital imaging, allows
doctors to accurately predict which cancer patients are most likely to suffer a return of
Prostate Cancer. Prostate PX
was just granted U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval a couple of months ago, so it is not widely available yet.
According to clinical trials, Prostate PX had a 94 percent accuracy rating for predicting
Prostate Cancer for men whose
cancer returned in the first five years after surgery. Prostate PX also accurately predicted clinical failure in 89
percent of post-prostatectomy patients. For more information, visit Aureon
