Men who have been diagnosed with prostate
cancer may still be able to purchase life insurance. The
Hartford Financial Services GroupĀ now offers life insurance at the standard rate to men who are over age 60
and have received surgical treatment for moderate levels of
Prostate Cancer. This should be great news for prostate
cancer survivors, previous insurance rules required for men to be cancer free for a minimum of three years before life
insurance options were available. This new policy could enable the nearly 50,000 men who will be diagnosed with
Prostate Cancer this year to the option of life insurance. And for the nearly 250,000 men who have received a prostate
cancer diagnosis in the past five years, this isĀ a choice not available to them until now. The Hartford Group
created a similar program in the fall of 2005 for
breast cancer survivors.
