Sony Computer Entertainment today issued a recall for 3.5 million AC adaptors for the black slimline PlayStation 2. This is not unlike the recall issued by Microsoft for 14.1 million power adaptors earlier this year. According to the company, these units have a chance to overheat because of a small component not manufactured by
Sony.
"As a precautionary measure, and to ensure the quality and safety of PlayStation products for consumers, SCE has taken the decision to recall all affected AC Adaptors in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Australasia," said a statement by SCE.
