Flash: Microsoft loses EU antitrust appeal, must pay $631 million

Filed under: Microsoft (MSFT)Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) lost its appeal of a European anti-trust ruling against the company. The European Union had charged that the world's largest software company had used its dominance on the desktop to force other software, especially its Windows Media Player, onto PCs to harm its competition. The court also upheld the EU's $631 million fine against Microsoft. The software company can appeal the decision one more time, to the EU's highest court. Permalink |
