The estranged couple goes public; plus, romance news with Jen and Vince, the latest on Angelina, along with Gwen's MTV snub, diet secrets of Hilary and Jack, and more ...
Sienna Miller: optimist or sucker? You be the judge. Reconciliation talk has kicked into overdrive now that the actress has stepped out with estranged fiancé Jude Law, marking their first appearance in public together since his admission last month that he'd gotten up close and way too personal with his kids' nanny.
Paparazzi caught the couple walking in London on Wednesday with, according to the London Daily Mail, the actor's two youngest children, a dog and a nanny (don't worry -- this is the more mature caretaker the British tabs have dubbed "Mrs. Doubtfire").
Miller, 23, still without her engagement ring, looked her usual boho-riffic self in a backless sundress, while Jude, 32, in a welcome contrast to those full-frontal shots taken recently in France, was fully dressed but wearing what the paper describes as "ill-fitting and ill-matched clothes and several days' stubble."
The reunion, however, wasn't exactly overflowing with the warm fuzzies, despite Miller's occasional smiles. She reportedly spent much of their 10-minute stroll talking on her cell phone as Jude walked ahead of her.
"It has been a totally traumatic time for both of them," an insider tells the Mail. "Jude has just returned from holiday at his parents' home in France, where he was in such a state that his mother even thought about calling a doctor to see him. He hasn't been sleeping or eating."
Law, who is rumored to have had several private tête-à-têtes with Sienna, purportedly made repeated attempts to phone her while he was away, only to have her hang up on him.
"She is crying all the time and can't decide whether to take him back," the source says. "She is driving everyone a bit mad, as they are telling her she needs to make a decision and stick to it."
Adds a Miller mole to the London Sun, "Sienna hasn't totally forgiven Jude but she is doing her best to work things out with him. She really loves him and is devastated by his betrayal. He has been doing everything in his power to convince her he made a stupid mistake and it won't happen again."
Law's powers of persuasion seem to be working. In addition to joining Jude for the public perambulation, Sienna has supposedly invited him to her sister's wedding next month (per the Sun) and to an upcoming screening of her new movie "Casanova" (per the London Mirror).
"Sienna inviting him to a preview of her first lead role is very significant," an insider posits to the Mirror. "Jude knows that if she still values his opinion there's a chance they can start to rebuild their relationship."
Also on the movie guest list is Miller's mom, who you'll recall branded her once and perhaps future son-in-law "a bloody idiot" after he admitted his nanny dalliance.
Says the source, "She's seen how contrite he's been and she's opening up to the idea of allowing him back into the family."
